WEEK 1: NATIVE AMERICAN ART PORTRAIT PROCESS

Kirby Sattler spends anywhere from 2 months to an entire year on each Native American art painting. Today we share the first stage of the process as a canvas is stretched, primed, and an initial charcoal sketch is drawn.

Your work is very inspirational. I am a huge fan of Kirby Sattler and I own over a dozen L.E. Giclee Prints. I would love to see a time lapse sketch of one of your paintings. The above description says "Time lapse of painting stage 1". I assumed it was a video and if there is one, I can't get anything to show up.

thank you Erik for your comment. Unfortunately the actual time of painting or sketching can't be observed by anyone, but we will try to get as many snapshots of the process steps as possible.

As a work in progress, I find it very interesting to see the way in which Mr Sattler's charcoal sketch is transforming into a painting. I look forward to viewing the finished piece. Thank you for this most private glimpse Inside the studio.
